Highlight: Corporate Change & Communication Study Results

We recently discovered a series of enlightening studies conducted by Towers Watson between 2003 and 2014. The Change and Communication ROI study series hones in on key insights regarding corporate efficiency, corporate culture, management, and communications.

This study series is well worth checking out for anyone who manages communication methods, leads a company, or manages a team. According to the series,

Organizations with highly effective communication and change management practices are more than twice as likely to significantly outperform their peers, versus organisations that are not highly effective in either of these areas. Six activities influence overall change success: leading, communicating, learning, measuring, involving and sustaining.

The study speaks to various aspects of corporate culture as well, a topic we have often covered here on the blog:

Companies that communicate with courage, innovation and discipline, especially during tough times, are more effective at engaging employees and achieving desired business results.

Financial considerations are addressed at length from various angles. Not suprisingly, quality communication is tied to financial success at the end of the day. Inefficient communication means lost time — and lost time in business is lost money. According to one of the early studies in the series,

A significant improvement in communication effectiveness is associated with a 29.5% increase in market value.

Clearly, developing quality corporate communication practices and maintaining a healthy corporate culture can not only lead to higher levels of employee engagement and employee satisfaction, but to higher profits as well. There are many ways to approach healthy communication by design.

Most recently, audience response systems and feedback apps have risen in popularity — thus our particular passion and mission around our own brand of corporate communication support here at MeetingPulse.
